How we protect you  |  How to protect yourself

Online Security

Bank online with confidence. MCB uses advanced technology to protect you from fraud.

Protection of your information

MCB uses the following techniques to safeguard your information:

  • 128-Bit encryption - When you access your accounts and perform transactions online, your information is protected by 128-bit encryption.
  • Additional Authentication - Whether you use a desktop or a mobile device, we always ask you for additional authentication when logging on: e-Pass, Digital Certificate, Soft or Hard Token.
  • Last Logon date/time - Every time you logon, we display the date and time of your last visit.

If you didn't logon on then, you’ll know if there has been unauthorized account access.

  • Extended Validation (EV) SSL Certificate - The green address bar on our banking sites is a security feature supported by newer browsers, indicating that communication between your browser and our website is encrypted and that the certification authority has confirmed the website is owned or operated by a business that is legally organized under the jurisdiction shown in the certificate and on the Security Status bar.
  • Secure firewalls - The servers that run MCB sites are protected by numerous firewalls to prevent unauthorized access to our network. MCB monitors these firewalls to prevent security breaches.
  • Session Timeouts - When you are logged on to online banking but remain inactive for some time, your session will time out. To resume, you will need to logon again.

Mobile Security

When using MCB Mobile, your information is protected by the following security measures.

Protection of your information

  • With MCB Mobile, your accounts are also protected by 128-bit encryption.
  • You logon to MCB Mobile with the same User ID and Password you use for online banking.
  • When you logon to MCB Mobile, we always ask you for additional authentication, like an e-Pass.
  • MCB Mobile doesn’t store personal account information on mobile devices, so your accounts are not exposed if your phone is lost or stolen.

Safely downloading the Mobile App

We only offer our Mobile App in the official Apple App Store and on Google Play. Only download the MCB Mobile app to your mobile device from one of these trusted market places, and never from a third-party source. Also check the developer of the app you download. MCB will never direct you to download an app that is not developed by MCB. Do not root or jailbreak your device to get around limitations set by your carrier or device manufacturer. This will remove any protections built into the device to defend against mobile threats.
